Race format, rules, timing, and race-day expectations. No surprises. No excuses. Just the work.
Five distances offered across MileBuilt events. Core distances run at every event. The 50K is a select-event offering — confirm availability on RunSignup before registering.
MileBuilt events are cupless. There are no disposable cups at aid stations. You are responsible for carrying your own fluids — via handheld bottle, vest, or waist pack.
It keeps operations simple, reduces waste, and puts the responsibility for preparation where it belongs — with you.
Plan for the distance. Carry what you need.
Rules that apply to all MileBuilt events. Review before race day.
5K / 10K — 14 years or older
Half Marathon — 16 years or older
Marathon / 50K — 18 years or older
Resolve (3-Day, 4-Day, and 5-Day Challenges) — 16 years or older minimum; Marathon/50K distances within Resolve require 18 years or older
All Streaks — 18 years or older
Parent or guardian consent required for all participants under 18. Handled at registration through RunSignup.
Bibs are available for pickup on race day. Honor system — no ID required. A friend may pick up your bib on your behalf.
No bib transfers. Your bib is registered to you. Another runner may not race under your bib number.
MileBuilt operates on a 9-hour race day cutoff with a 30-minute grace period — 9.5 hours total. This applies to the full race day, not per distance. Runners still on course after the cutoff window will be directed off course.
Headphones — the use of personal music devices is strongly discouraged at MileBuilt events. Be aware of your surroundings at all times.
Pets & Strollers — strongly discouraged on course. MileBuilt operates on public trails where other users may be present. If you choose to bring either, you are fully responsible for the safety of yourself and others.
MileBuilt events are directed by an RRCA-certified race director. The Road Runners Club of America sets national standards for race management, runner safety, and course operations. Certification means trained protocols govern how MileBuilt plans, manages, and runs each event — so you know what to expect before you show up.
The Streak is built on your personal pledge. Here is how it operates on race day and beyond.
When you register for a Streak, your commitment begins on the first day of the challenge. There is no other start option — the Streak runs from day one through the final day of your challenge. Standalone and Resolve runners select their own individual days.
Every Streak runner signs a personal pledge at registration. It is not a waiver. It is a commitment to the work, the distance, and to yourself. The Streak pricing is built into that commitment.
"I pledge to return, repeat, and endure. I will respect the distance by showing up again — when it is hard, when I am tired, when I would rather not. I understand that Streak pricing is built into the commitment. It is not a coupon, a sale, or a shortcut. Tomorrow, I earn it by showing up again."
The personal pledge is not about accountability to MileBuilt. It is about accountability to yourself — to the growth, the discipline, and the version of you that shows up again tomorrow.
No day-of policing. No checkpoint verification. The commitment lives between you and the pledge you signed.
Change requests must be submitted more than 10 days before your first race day and are subject to race director approval. Requests submitted within 10 days are outside the change window. Eligible downgrades may receive MileBuilt credit — not a cash refund. Upgrades allowed if space permits.
After that window closes —
NO CHANGES. NO REFUNDS. NO RACE-DAY REPRICING.
Broken Streak: no tier patch. You may complete remaining paid days and receive daily finisher recognition.
Can't make your event? Defer to a future MileBuilt event instead of forfeiting your registration.
Same distance — straight transfer
Shorter distance — difference forfeited, no credit
Longer distance — you pay the difference
One deferral per registration. Valid 12 months from your original event date. Must be requested more than 10 days before your first race day.
*All requests outside the change and deferral standards are at the race director's discretion.
Here is what to expect on race day.
Start times are early by design — Central Florida heat is a real factor. If you miss the start window, you may not be permitted to begin. Check RunSignup for your exact start time.
Pay attention to course signage. Know the number of loops or turnaround points for the distance you signed up for. MileBuilt courses are clearly marked — knowing your route is your responsibility.
Cupless format means you carry your own fluids — via handheld bottle, vest, or waist pack. Aid stations provide water, an electrolyte drink, and basic snacks. For longer distances and multi-day participation, plan your own nutrition — gels, chews, and electrolyte supplements. Do not rely on the aid station as your complete plan.
Aid stations are at the start/finish line only. If your vehicle is parked along the course, you may access it as needed for personal supplies. Plan accordingly for your distance.
Whether you are running a 5K or a 50K, the distance deserves respect. Train for what you sign up for. Do not overcommit and underperform.
MileBuilt is grassroots. Whether you finish first or last, you cross the same finish line. Encourage everyone. Respect every effort.
Cross the finish line. Strike the GONG. Take your MileBuilt Finish Ticket. Record your finish. That's it. The GONG marks the moment — not a ceremony, just a signal that you did the work.
No finisher shirts. No race bags. No merchandise tables at the finish line. You finish, you collect your Daily Finisher Medallion, you earn what you came for. That is the experience.
MileBuilt uses old-school completion timing — not chip timing. There are no timing mats, no RFID chips, no apps. The system is intentionally simple — built around the work, not the technology.
Cross the finish line. Strike the GONG. Receive a numbered MileBuilt Finish Ticket — that number marks your finish order. Take it directly to the Finish Ledger table and record your ticket number, bib number, completed distance, and the hour and minute shown on the race clock. Drop the ticket in the finish box. That is your official finish record.
Times are posted in hour and minute format only. Seconds are not recorded, rounded, or posted.
If the Finish Ledger is not completed, there is no official finish record. This is not optional.
The 9-hour race day cutoff with 30-minute grace period (9.5 hours total) applies to the full race day — not per distance. Cutoffs are enforced for runner safety and permit compliance. Start times are set early — Central Florida heat is not a factor to ignore. The clock does not wait.
The GONG marks the moment. Not a ceremony — a signal. You crossed the line. You did the work. Strike it and make it known.
After the GONG: receive your numbered MileBuilt Finish Ticket, record your finish in the Ledger, and rest. The clock stops here. The next Streak is already waiting.
MileBuilt events are official public races with a named race director, posted distances, designated race direction, common starts, official finish times, and published results. These standards apply to every MileBuilt event.
USATF certification is not required for most outside club eligibility. MileBuilt is currently operating under its own race standards, with USATF course certification under consideration for future marathon distances.
Always verify eligibility directly with your club or organization for your specific situation.
