MileBuilt races are built by runners, for runners — and supported by people willing to show up, help out, and make race day possible. That's the Crew.
MileBuilt is not built around big-race extras. It is built around the basics that matter most — the things that make a race feel real, fair, and finishable.
The Crew lives by the same values as the runners. Same standard. Same work ethic. The people supporting the race understand the race — because they show up to it the same way.
Every race-day role matters. Whether you want to be at the start line, at the finish, or somewhere out on the course, there is a spot that fits.
MileBuilt races are designed to start early — Central Florida heat is a real factor. Longer-distance races, including the 50K and Marathon, will likely start between 5:00 a.m. and 6:00 a.m. once permits and event details are confirmed. Some volunteers may need to arrive about an hour before race start.
| Shift Type | Possible Window | Best For |
|---|---|---|
| Early Setup / Packet Pickup | ~1 hour before race start | Setup, check-in, bibs, runner questions |
| Morning Core Shift | Early morning → mid-morning | Packet pickup, aid, start line, early finishers |
| Extended Morning Shift | Early morning → late morning | Main race support, aid, finish-line help |
| Full Support Shift | Early morning → major finish window | Larger race-day support role |
| Ultra Coverage Shift | Longer event coverage | 50K, Marathon, final finishers, cleanup |
MileBuilt volunteers may earn race credit toward future MileBuilt events based on completed and verified volunteer hours. The more you put in, the more you earn back.
| Volunteer Time | Credit Earned |
|---|---|
| 2 hours | 0.5 volunteer credit |
| 4 hours | 1 volunteer credit |
| 6 hours | 1.5 volunteer credits |
| 8 hours | 2 volunteer credits |
| 10 hours | 2.5 volunteer credits |
| Credits Earned | May Be Redeemed For |
|---|---|
| 1 credit | Future MileBuilt 5K or 10K |
| 2 credits | Future single-day MileBuilt race, up to 50K |
| 4+ credits | May be applied toward a multi-day Challenge registration |
Volunteer race credit is based on completed and verified hours. The system is intentionally simple — built around the work, not the paperwork.
Volunteers must check in when they arrive and check out before they leave so their hours can be recorded. After the event, MileBuilt reviews completed volunteer hours and records earned credits.
MileBuilt races are lean and community-supported. Depending on your role, you might help with check-in, aid, supplies, finish-line support, runner tracking, course support, or cleanup. You may be outside for several hours. You may arrive before sunrise. The work is real — and so is the satisfaction at the end of it.
Friends, family, spouses, partners, and personal crew members are welcome to volunteer. If you're already coming to support a runner, why wait at the start or finish line?
Volunteering is a way to be part of race day — not just an observer of it. You'll meet other runners, see the race from the inside, and help build the experience your runner worked hard to earn.
MileBuilt welcomes individuals, families, friends, running clubs, school groups, service clubs, fitness groups, and community organizations that want to support local runners. Group volunteers may help with aid station support, course support, packet pickup, finish-line support, setup, cleanup, runner tracking, or wherever support is needed most.

No pressure. No spam. Just real race-day opportunities when they come up.
MileBuilt races are built one runner, one volunteer, and one mile at a time.
Whether you can help for two hours, a full morning, or a full race day — your time creates a stronger race experience for every runner on the course.
