The Race Doesn't Happen
Without You.

MileBuilt is not built around big-race extras. It is built around the basics that matter most — the things that make a race feel real, fair, and finishable.

A Clear Course
Marked turns. Visible signage. No wrong turns.
Reliable Support
Aid where it's needed. Water that doesn't run out.
Honest Effort
Runners who showed up. Volunteers who did the same.
Encouragement
The voice that gets a tired runner to the next mile.
A Strong Finish
A finish line worth crossing. A name called out.
A Community
People who show up — for runners and for each other.
Volunteers check in nervous runners before sunrise, hand out water when someone is struggling, and shout the words that get a runner across the line. They record finish times after hours of effort. That is the work. That is why volunteers matter.

The Crew Shows Up.

The Crew lives by the same values as the runners. Same standard. Same work ethic. The people supporting the race understand the race — because they show up to it the same way.

Keep It Simple
You don't have to be a runner. You don't need race experience. You don't need to have run a single mile. What matters is wanting to be part of the MileBuilt culture — the showing up, the lifting up, the doing the work. The Crew is for anyone who shares the values, no matter what their relationship to running looks like.

Pick Your Post.

Every race-day role matters. Whether you want to be at the start line, at the finish, or somewhere out on the course, there is a spot that fits.

Role 01
Registration & Packet Pickup
Greet runners at check-in. Hand out bibs. Answer first-time questions. The first face runners see on race morning.
Role 02
Aid Station Support
Pour water, hand out electrolyte drink, refill bottles, restock snacks, and keep the station running smoothly throughout the race.
Role 03
Finish Line Crew
Cheer runners across the line. Monitor the GONG station and ticket dispenser. Hold the finish line. Hand out Daily Finisher Medallions. Direct runners to the ledger table.
Role 04
Runner Tracking Support
Help with the Finish Ledger. Confirm ticket numbers, bib numbers, distances, and clock times. The system that makes the finish official.
Role 05
Course & Turnaround Support
Direct runners at turns or turnarounds. Confirm distances. Be a steady voice for someone who's been out there for hours.
Role 06
Setup & Cleanup Crew
Help build the race before runners arrive. Break it down after the last runner crosses. The invisible work that makes everything possible.
Role 07 — Wildcard
The Wherever-Needed Crew
Race day is a moving target. Things change. People shift around. The Wherever-Needed Crew goes where the day asks them to go — and that is one of the most valuable spots on the course.

Early Mornings.
Long Days.

MileBuilt races are designed to start early — Central Florida heat is a real factor. Longer-distance races, including the 50K and Marathon, will likely start between 5:00 a.m. and 6:00 a.m. once permits and event details are confirmed. Some volunteers may need to arrive about an hour before race start.

Volunteer race credit is based on completed and verified hours. The system is intentionally simple — built around the work, not the paperwork.

Step 04
Earn Credit

Volunteers must check in when they arrive and check out before they leave so their hours can be recorded. After the event, MileBuilt reviews completed volunteer hours and records earned credits.

Bare-Bones.
Built For The Runner.

MileBuilt races are lean and community-supported. Depending on your role, you might help with check-in, aid, supplies, finish-line support, runner tracking, course support, or cleanup. You may be outside for several hours. You may arrive before sunrise. The work is real — and so is the satisfaction at the end of it.

What To Bring

Comfortable clothes
Weather-appropriate gear
Closed-toe shoes
Water or personal drink
Snacks if needed
A positive attitude
Flexibility to help where needed

Crew Up
While You Wait.

Friends, family, spouses, partners, and personal crew members are welcome to volunteer. If you're already coming to support a runner, why wait at the start or finish line?

Volunteering is a way to be part of race day — not just an observer of it. You'll meet other runners, see the race from the inside, and help build the experience your runner worked hard to earn.

  • Volunteer before, during, or after your runner's race
  • Pick a role that fits your timing
  • Combine short shifts for credit toward your own future race
  • Be part of the day instead of waiting on it

Crew Up Together.

MileBuilt welcomes individuals, families, friends, running clubs, school groups, service clubs, fitness groups, and community organizations that want to support local runners. Group volunteers may help with aid station support, course support, packet pickup, finish-line support, setup, cleanup, runner tracking, or wherever support is needed most.
